Some questions that you have probably been asking yourself:
What is Nova Earth?
Nova Earth is a plastic-free living resource — part knowledge hub, part product directory. It’s built for people who are either already trying to reduce plastic in their daily lives, or who just started wondering what’s actually in the stuff they use every day. There’s no prerequisite. If you’ve ever looked at a shampoo bottle and thought “wait, what is this made of?” — you’re in the right place.
Why was Nova Earth created?
The information about plastics, toxins and their health effects exists – scattered across scientific studies, documentaries, podcasts and niche articles – but it’s hard to find, harder to act on, and easy to feel overwhelmed by. I mention it cause that’s what I felt. Nova Earth was built to change that. One organized, accessible place where you can understand what plastics actually do to your body, and find real products that let you make a different choice. No science degree required. No need to spend hours comparing brands or reading ingredient lists. The goal is to make plastic-free living practical, not just possible.
Who is behind Nova Earth?
Nova Earth was founded by Avia (me!). I started the brand after realizing how deeply plastics and toxins had worked their way into everyday life – from food containers to personal care products to kitchen tools. The more I learned, the more I wanted one organized, honest place to find the information and the products. That place didn’t exist, so I built it 🙂
Why plastic-free specifically – and not just “eco” or “sustainable”?
Because “eco” and “sustainable” can mean almost anything – and often mean very little. Plastic-free is specific. It’s a clear, measurable standard: either the product contains plastic or it doesn’t. Nova Earth focuses here because plastics aren’t just an environmental issue – they’re a health issue. Microplastics have been found in human blood, breast milk, and lung tissue and even in the bottom of the ocean on samples from creatures that has no interaction with humans at all . The starting point is reducing what goes into your body and the bodies of other living creatures, your home and the environment.
Is Nova Earth a store?
Not exactly. Not yet. Nova Earth is a curated product directory and knowledge portal – not a traditional online store. When you find a product you like, you’re directed to the brand’s own website to complete your purchase. Our job is to find, vet, and present the best plastic-free options so you don’t have to spend hours doing the research yourself. We are hoping that as the brand grows we would be able to create our own store. It’s up to you 🙂
Does Nova Earth earn money from the products it recommends?
Yes, and we want to be upfront about it. Some of the product links on Nova Earth are affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you make a purchase through them – at no extra cost to you. This is one of the ways we keep the site running. That said, affiliate status has no bearing on which products get listed. Every product goes through the same vetting process regardless of whether there is a commercial relationship involved. We only recommend products we would genuinely stand behind.
Can’t find an Answer?
All you need to know about our products:

Are all the products on Nova Earth actually plastic-free?
Yes – that’s the baseline requirement for any product appearing on the site. Every item goes through a vetting process to confirm it meets our plastic-free standard. That said, “plastic-free” sometimes means the product itself is plastic-free while the packaging still uses some plastic. We note this where relevant so you have the full picture before buying.
Has Nova Earth personally tested every product?
Not all of them. Well, I hope I had the money to buy all of them and test them, but that’s not the case (and also quite a waste cause who needs 20 different water bottles anyway 😉
Some products have been personally used and tested; others have been thoroughly researched – reviewing materials, ingredients, manufacturing, and brand transparency – without direct personal testing. We always note which is which, because we think that distinction matters.
Where can I buy the products featured on Nova Earth?
Each product page includes a direct link to the brand’s own website where you can purchase it. Nova Earth is a directory, not a checkout – so the transaction happens on the brand’s site. Shipping options and availability vary by brand, and you can check those details directly on their site.
What if I have an issue with a product I found through Nova Earth?
Since purchases are completed directly on the brand’s website, any issues with your order – returns, exchanges, damaged items – should be handled through the brand directly. If you noticed that information on Nova Earth’s product page is inaccurate or misleading, reach out through our contact form and we’ll look into it.
Are you a brand? this part is for you:
What does it mean to be featured on Nova Earth?
Being featured on Nova Earth means your product has its own dedicated page in our curated directory, is linked from relevant articles and category pages, and is visible to an audience that is actively looking for plastic-free alternatives. We don’t feature products for the sake of volume – every listing passes our vetting process and is presented with real context, not generic copy. It also doesn’t mean that if one product appears on Nova Earth all the products of a certain brand fits our values.
What criteria must my product meet to be featured?
Every product on Nova Earth must meet four non-negotiable standards: it must be completely plastic-free (including its primary materials), it must be vegan, it must be reasonably priced relative to the market, and silicone may only appear as a functional component – not as the main material. Products that don’t meet all four aren’t listed, regardless of how strong the brand is.
How can my brand to be featured?
You can reach out through the contact form on our website. Tell us about your product, the materials it’s made from, and any relevant certifications. We review every application against our product standards before anything goes live.
What happens after I apply?
We review your product against our standards and get back to you with a proposal. If it’s a good fit, we’ll follow up to gather everything we need to build the product page – materials, specs, brand background. If something doesn’t meet our criteria, we’ll let you know which standard wasn’t met. We’re straightforward about it.
